Alan Totty Council Candidate
I am married with four grown-up children and one Grandson. Living locally puts me at the heart of my community, which I care about greatly.
I am currently working as a support worker in the Independence Plus provision at a college in Birmingham for adults with additional needs. I’m as passionate about my work, with additional needs, as I am about local politics.
How I Champion my Community
I love the area that I live in and have been involved in the local plan review, representing the Offmore and Comberton ward and the interests of all residents of that ward. I want housing that meets the needs of local people, this interest is not restricted to my ward, but the whole of Wyre Forest. I believe that a whole constituency approach to housing is crucial to meet local people's needs.
I’m passionate about the environment and believe that our reliance on fossil fuels needs to be reduced and as Councillors, we have an important role in meeting our area's commitment to meeting net zero emission targets. I regularly try to speak to as many people as I can to find the issues that people have.
I BELIEVE THE '20 IS PLENTY' SHOULD BE INTRODUCED IN OUR RESIDENTIAL AREAS TO MAKE THEM SAFER FROM SPEEDING TRAFFIC
