Wyre Forest Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Neville Farmer meets with Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg
Liberal Democrat party leader, Nick Clegg met with Wyre Forest Lib Dems when he visited Worcestershire on 10th July. After 90 minutes fielding tough questions from the public at the Malvern Theatres, he talked with Wyre Forest Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Neville Farmer and local members, Clare Cassidy and Jock Gallagher.
Nick was particularly interested in Neville's plans for engaging young people in school debating societies and said that the national party is paying a keen interest in the new energy shown in the Wyre Forest Lib Dems.
During his talk to an audience of over 200, Nick covered subjects as diverse as youth crime, Europe, increasing public involvement in politics, social housing, the economy, the power of the media, mental healthcare, transport, the NHS and war. "It was great to hear Nick answering such difficult questions so easily and rationally," said Neville. "It was also great to get encouragement for our work in Wyre Forest. With positive comments from Nick and the party president, Simon Hughes in recent weeks, we can see a real swing of support towards us from the national party."
