The Forgotten Roads and Cul-de-sacs of Oldington and Foley Park

The state of roads across Oldington and Foley Park is driving residents crazy.

Samantha Walker was contacted by residents of Summer Road about the state of the road surface. The Council only resurfaced part of it 6 years ago and left the rest because they ran out of money - at least this is what they told the residents. Samantha says "The road is in a dangerous state. It is just crumbling away and full of potholes!"

Samantha Walker Finds more decay and neglect in Corndon Close

Another resident in Corndon Close told Samantha that the road surface there has been falling apart for over five years. "The local Tory councillor keeps trying to convince us that everything is fine with the programme to repair our roads, but the proof is there for all to see, " says Samantha. The situation is really bad in Cotswold Close, too. Samantha says, "The road has been like this for over 10 years now and it's unacceptable, especially as it services OAP and Disabled Persons' bungalows needing wheelchair access.I can't believe the local Tory councillor thinks this is acceptable. The Conservatives run the County Council and Wyre Forest and this is the result, decay and neglect. What have they been doing with our money for all these years?"

"They've been given over £2 million extra to fix roads this year. I'f I'm elected on May 1st I'll fight tooth and nail to make sure Oldington and Foley Park gets its fair share!"
