The County Council's Accidents Study Team have been looking at recording accidents on the Worcester Road at Hoobrook. Most accidents have happened in or around the central reservation gap between the petrol stations.
The Accident Team have put together a scheme which they feel will help prevent further accidents in that area. This includes;
*Narrowing the northbound carriageway down to a single lane.
*Including a physical right turn ban for southbound traffic flow into central centeral reservation gap.
The Accident Team feel this wold be a safer option and at peak times a quicker route.
As the Accident Team are well aware of the Campaign That Councillors Helen and Peter Dyke ran for a crossing across the A449(from Wilden Lane to the Crown) they have also proposed to include uncontrolled crossing facilities just north of the island in their plans.
If you would like to see a copy of the proposed plans please get in touch with Councillors Helen and Peter Dyke on 01562 741955
