Roads Will Change Hands

Potholes The A449 and A456 Trunk Roads have been the responsibility of the Government Highways Agency. This meant that they were responsible for all the maintenance an crossings etc that took place on them. This is due to change in the near future when these Trunk Roads will become the responsibility of the County Council. At the moment we have not been told if the County Council Budget will be increased to cover this extra work load. If there is no extra money then our already potholed, badly surfaced local roads will be left and roads awaiting repair will have to wait even longer. The Government is off loading yet another responsibility on local councils without as yet any more funding, how will the gap be bridged? Will they expect you to pay Higher Council Tax Maybe!
