At a packed Wyre Forest Lib Dem meeting local party members overwhelmingly voted Samantha Walker to be the candidate in the Aggborough and Spennells By-Election on the 27th October 2005 having only been 19 votes behind the third place in the June 2004 elections with the full support of Councillors Helen and Peter Dyke. Samantha Walker is delighted to have been chosen to fight the Aggborough & Spennells seat again, Samantha said " It gives me a chance to build on last years result.
Samantha who has two children has lived all her life in the town she openly admits to loving Kidderminster. Being active and helping the community is nothing new for her. For the last 13 years she has worked for Social Services helping the elderly live more a fulfilling life. Not one to sit idly by, in her spare time Samantha is a leading figure in Wyre Forest`s Neighbourhood Watch Scheme, working very closely with the West Mercia Police. If thats not enough, she is also an Assistant Beaver Scout Leader and a School Governor. Samantha says" I became and active member of the Lib Dems some years ago, because they are the only party who truly believe in helping the community, being a Lib Dem Councillor is asking for a busy life!" And if there is any spare time? Samantha enjoys walking in the countryside and has been known to get involved in historical re-enactments1
